Wenner Palanca flute a=415 in grenadilla. An excellent copy of an original Palanca flute made of grenadilla wood, from a private collection in Frankfurt. Carlo Palanca was active as flute maker in Turin, and this instrument has an oval embouchure which allows for a more powerful sound. The Palanca flute can be described as a universal instrument that covers a large spectrum of flute literature including music by Locatelli, Platti, Händel, and Bach. This copy is made from grenadilla, as is the original, whch is less susceptible to cracks than ebony and has excellent sound characteristics. The pitch is a=415.
